Trusting a specialist and seeing your money: Igor’s story

We told Igor's story briefly in the “Crypto with a trusted specialist” scenario. Here it is in full: what delegating money matters looks like when the trust is there but the visibility is not, and what changes when visibility arrives.

“I trusted him. I just couldn’t see”

Igor is 47, runs a small business, and lives by an old rule: everyone should do their own job. So when he decided to put part of his spare money into crypto, he did not go learning wallets and exchanges himself; he arranged it with a specialist he has known for over ten years.

“Trust was never the question. The question, which took me a while to even phrase, was different: I could not see my money. Every couple of weeks a voice message arrived: ‘all fine, we grew a bit.’ I believed it. And at the same time I understood that ‘all fine’ is not reporting, it is a mood.

I was too embarrassed to ask for details. It would have sounded like an audit, and the man is my friend. That fork tortured me: either awkward questions or life in the dark.”

Transparency nobody has to ask for

Fittingly, the solution came from the specialist himself: he was tired of writing reports. They created a separate project in Finance Flow 365, and Igor invited him by link with member permissions. Now every operation — bought, sold, transferred — takes seconds to log and stays in the project forever, with an author and a date.

“The first thing that struck me: numbers in my currency. I used to hear ‘we exited the position at such-and-such price’ and nod, understanding nothing. Now I open the project and see: this much put in, this much now, all in the money I pay office rent with. At the rate of each operation’s date, no retroactive recalculations.

The second thing: the ‘how are things’ question died. Not because it became awkward to ask, but because there was nothing left to ask. Open, look, close. Once a week, over coffee.”

What changed for the specialist

The unexpected part: both sides won. “He said himself it is calmer this way. Any question of mine used to sound like distrust to him, and he would burn an evening on a ‘report’. Now the facts accumulate by themselves, as the work happens. His job is the decisions, my job is seeing the picture. We finally stopped doing each other’s work.”

One more detail: the specialist sees only the crypto project. Igor's business, the family money, the personal flows — all of it lives in other projects, accessible to nobody but their own members. Permissions are per project, and that removes the last awkwardness: you share exactly what you meant to share.

Igor’s conclusion

“I thought I was choosing between trust and control. Turned out to be a false choice. Transparency is not control. It is just light in the room where your money lives. Trust only grows in the light.”

A composite story; details changed. Cryptocurrencies are available on the Pro plan on equal terms with regular currencies; the service has no tickers and no investment advice — only honest bookkeeping of operations.
